...stay at the beach in style

When you come to stay in a Charleston beach house, you’ve gotta eat.  And thankfully our luxury beach house rentals SC are near some of the best food in the country.

The Holy City has fast become a major foodie destination.  Charlestonians have always loved food, and hospitality is a long-ingrained trait around here.  But things have really ramped up as more and more chefs join the scene, and Charleston lands on yet more top ten lists.

Witness this fact.  According to Tripadvisor, two of the top ten  –  and four of the top thirteen – restaurants in America are in Charleston.  Charleston was the ONLY city to have more than one in the top ten.  Not New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles… only Charleston.  And wouldn’t you rather be staying in one of our spacious beach rentals Charleston, rather than a tiny motel room in a loud, crowded city?

You can read more about the ranking in this blog.

People have long been drawn to Charleston for its history, architecture, gardens, overall charm, and of course the water.  The beaches and barrier islands around Charleston are truly exceptional.  A beach house Charleston is a perfect way to enjoy all of the above, since many of our Isle of Palms luxury rentals are oceanfront.

So add to the list of draws, world class cuisine.  People come to stay in SC vacation rentals, namely beach house rentals Charleston SC, just for the food.  One factor that truly ramped up the trend is the annual Charleston Wine + Food Festival.  The 13th installment took place February 28th through March 4th of this year.

Well, the numbers are in, and they are pretty incredible.  Talk about setting some records.

That is a tremendous growth rate.  The powers-that-be attribute much of the growth to the creative and varied festival lineup of over 100 events.

Next year’s festival will take place March 6th through 10th, 2019.

It’s not too early to book one of our Isle of Palms vacation rentals for Wine + Food 2019!

Here’s the whole story, from the Post & Courier.

And while it’s not quite summer yet, there are a few things popping up that hint it’s not too far off.  Like the first appearance of the Sullivan’s Island Farmers’ Market which happened yesterday and which I covered in that last blog.  It’s super convenient, just across Breach Inlet from our Isle of Palms vacation rentals.

Something else happened yesterday which heralds that summer is near.  Last night was the first home game of baseball season in the Lowcountry.

Take me out to the ballgame near our SC vacation rentals…

Our beloved Charleston RiverDogs played their first home game against the Kannapolis, NC Intimidators.  The RiverDogs won, 6-4.  Go, Dogs!

They’ll be playing here for the next several days.  The RiverDogs play at “The Joe,” Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, named after Charleston’s beloved former mayor.  It’s an easy drive from all our luxury beach house rentals SC.

From your beach house Charleston, head to Highway 17 and take it all the way onto the peninsula and the Crosstown, and turn right onto Lockwood.  You can’t miss it.  It’s located over toward the Citadel.

Here is a fun fact: the team is co-owned by none other than the Saturday Night Live alum and movie icon, Bill Murray, whose official title is, “Director of Fun.”  As you might imagine, considering that last fact  –  this isn’t just any team, or ballpark, or milieu.  The RiverDogs are known for their zany promotions as well as for their creative cuisine, which I touched on in this blog.  Plus, it’s just a wholesome, very fun way to spend an afternoon or evening.  It’s got something for everyone staying in your Charleston beach house, and is a fun outing on the peninsula when you’re here in one of our Isle of Palms luxury rentals.
