One of the most popular culinary events is popping up again, and area restaurants are sure to be buzzing with activity.  It’s Charleston Restaurant Week, and it’s running from September 9th through September 20th.

Sponsored by the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association, it’s become a wildly popular event that takes place twice a year, and it’s proven to be a big hit with locals and visitors alike.

This time, more than 140 restaurants are taking part, and more are being added each day.

If you are here in a beach house Charleston, whether it’s one of our Isle of Palms luxury rentals or Folly Beach rentals Charleston, chances are you are going to go out to eat.  You’ve gotta feed the folks in your Charleston beach house, and you might as well let someone else do it.  Restaurant Week is a great way to sample some of the best the town has to offer, at prices better than ordering a la carte.

This event just gets bigger and better each time it rolls around.  Charleston restaurants showing up on all sorts of prominent best-in-the-country lists doesn’t hurt, as local chefs are getting the rep of rock stars.  Charleston’s culinary scene is one of the main draws for folks coming to our rental homes South Carolina, be it Isle of Palms vacation rentals or Folly Beach house rentals Charleston SC.  Lowcountry food is hot, and Charleston Restaurant Week is, too.

They’ve tweaked it a bit with each year and each installment.  Instead of only having three tiers of pricing ($20, $30 or $40 per person for three courses), restaurants are encouraged to come up with their own specially priced event menus.  It looks to be a benefit to diners, adding more flexibility as restaurants respond to what people enjoy or have asked for in the past.  Some restaurants are opting for a special drink as opposed to a third-course dessert or first-course appetizer, for example.

The Greater Charleston Restaurant Association, who sponsors the event, has a great website with links to the individual menus and websites, as well as allowing you to make a reservation when possible.  Be sure to keep checking back, as they keep adding new restaurants.  Here’s a link:  http://www.charlestonrestaurantassociation.com/charleston-restaurant-week/

It’s highly recommended to make a reservation if you can, as these slots fill up FAST.

They also have a free app available to help in your Charleston Restaurant Week adventure.  It also has a handy tip calculator as well as a parking assistant, especially nice if you’re driving in from one of our beach rentals Charleston and aren’t sure where to park.  Just search for FREE GCRA or Greater Charleston Restaurant Association in your app store.

p.s.  FIREWORKS ON FOLLY!

If you’re in a Folly Beach house Charleston this holiday weekend, keep your eyes to the skies for fireworks.  The Fourth of July fireworks show was cancelled due to inclement weather, so they’ve decided to celebrate Labor Day weekend instead.  The show’ll start about 9:00 p.m. Saturday, September 5th, at 2nd Street East.

Here’s the scoop:  http://visitfolly.com/2015/07/folly-fireworks-show-on-labor-day-weekend/
