Halloween isn’t technically until Tuesday, but the party’s already started near our SC vacation rentals.
There’s still plenty of time to pick out the perfect pumpkin (and have a whole lot of family fun to boot) at Boone Hall Plantation’s famous Pumpkin Patch. You can also walk through the eight-acre corn maze. Enter the fun at 2330 Highway 17 North in Mount Pleasant, just over the Connector from our Isle of Palms vacation rentals. Read more about it in this BLOG.
Speaking of plantations – if you’re coming to a beach house Charleston, Magnolia Plantation is a great place to visit. It’s perfect at any time of the year, when there’s always something happening and something blooming. They’re also in a family-friendly Halloween mood at the moment. Tonight and tomorrow night, check out their Family Fright Night.
Magnolia Plantation is open 365 days of the year, and it’s located at 3550 Ashley River Road in Charleston, a pleasant drive from all our beach house rentals Charleston SC. Here’s their website with more about the gardens, the house, and their schedule of events: www.magnoliaplantation.com
Canine Fall Fun near our SC vacation rentals
If you have your canine with you (and we can pair you with a luxury house on Isle of Palms that’s pet friendly), tomorrow’s gone to the dogs. There are several Halloween activities where you can bring your four-legged friend, preferably in costume.
They include Trick or Trot, Howl-O-Ween, Dogtoberfest and more. You may even want to check out the 13th Annual Pet Helpers Fur Ball, a superfun gala to benefit little critters. Read all about it in the Post & Courier’s Charleston Scene.
If you’re choosing to spend it in a Charleston beach house, especially one of our Isle of Palms luxury rentals, keep an eye peeled for those little trick-or-treaters. As I covered in that last BLOG, many of them head to the IOP Rec Center for the island Halloween Carnival.
What candy to buy for trick-or-treaters that might stop by our SC vacation rentals?
In a rather scary stat, Americans are expected to spend $2.7 billion on Halloween candy this year. That’s according to the National Retail Federation.
In one of those silly but kind of funny polls, Influenster.com again surveyed people in all fifty states (23,154 of them) to find out their favorite Halloween candy. Their poll was based on the list of the 52 most popular candies in America. The number of people polled in each state was correlated to the state’s population.
Below is a nationwide map of the results, along with a list of the faves in each state. (Graphic credit Business Insider). You can read more about it here.
You’d think Charleston Chew would be the winner in the Palmetto State near our SC vacation rentals. Alas, Almond Joy is the South Carolina fave. Charleston Chew is the most popular in Maine!
So stay safe, and may you have more treats than tricks coming your way. And when you are looking for rental homes South Carolina – namely beach rentals Charleston – call EP. Our portfolio has the best in luxury beach house rentals SC.
