Work and school have begun again, and it’s official - we’re fully in the new year, despite the fact that I’m still writing 2024 on checks and databases.
Why not fill up that brand-new calendar with fun things to look forward to? Now’s the perfect time to plan your 2025 Isle of Palms vacation.
A year full of fun...
One of the many charms of Charleston is the fact that great things are going on, all year long.
Other vacation destinations, like mountain ski resorts, are mainly viable just for a season or two. You have a limited window in which to enjoy them.
But here in the Lowcountry, you really can’t go wrong in any of the four seasons, mainly due to a couple of reasons. First, the climate is temperate and enjoyable pretty much throughout the year. Sure, we have some cold days, but snow is rarer than hen’s teeth here on the Isle of Palms. We have mostly sunny days, and I see people in shorts and flip-flops every single month of the year.
The other reason is the variety of things to do here. It’s a mixture of abundant outdoor activities - swimming, boating, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, surfing, kitesurfing, fishing, golf, tennis, pickleball, beachcombing, hiking, running, exploring the cobblestone streets or taking a horse-drawn carriage ride - AND plenty to do indoors. Charleston is chocked full of history - museums, historic homes, the oldest theater in America, one of the country’s top ten shopping streets, world-class art galleries, antiques galore, centuries-old plantations, etc.
Events galore in the IOP!
And don’t get me started on the events. Just take a look at our massive Isle Of Palms events section to see what’s going on, all year long - with over 165 options.
Some highlights, more or less in chronological order on the calendar - oyster roasts galore, including the world’s largest oyster festival, SEWE (Southeastern Wildlife Exposition), Wind + Food Festival, Front Beach Fest on the IOP, St. Patrick’s Day fun (pubs and parades), the Cooper River Bridge Run, Credit One Charleston Open Tennis Tournament, one of the top ten farmer’s markets in the United States, Spoleto & Piccolo Spoleto Festivals, Strawberry Festival, July 4th fireworks and flyovers, wine festivals, beer festivals, golf cart parades, drive through Halloween Haunted House and IOP trick-or-treating, Charleston Cup Steeplechase, Holiday Festival of Lights, and a slew more.
So whichever season you pick to book a 2025 Isle of Palms vacation, you can’t go wrong.
Book Your Isle of Palms Beach House
If you’d like to see Charleston, your best bet is to secure a spot in one of our luxury homes on the Isle of Palms. That way you can have the best of both worlds - a beach vacation experience while being just a short drive from the historic district.
In Exclusive Properties’ portfolio here on the Isle of Palms, you have your pick from more than three dozen wonderful homes in a range of sizes and budgets.
There are two main areas to choose from: 1) South of the IOP Connector, on Ocean Boulevard, which runs along the Atlantic Ocean between Breach Inlet and the Front Beach commercial district of the Isle of Palms; and 2) North of the Connector, on Palm Boulevard, which runs along the Atlantic Ocean toward the Marina and Wild Dunes.
I’ll highlight some great Isle of Palms vacation rentals in each…
SOUTH of the CONNECTOR
Dolphin Manor, at 512 Ocean Boulevard:
This Isle of Palms oceanfront home was recently renovated to create open floor plans and wide vistas, with four of its six bedrooms facing the Atlantic. There’s a private boardwalk, putting green, and pool with built-in hot tub just steps from the beach. Dolphin Manor sleeps 12 people, has 6 and a half baths, an elevator, and is pet friendly. By the way, children under 2 are not counted in the occupancy limit.
Palm Manor, at 917 Ocean Boulevard
If you’d like to be closer to the action of Front Beach, you may want to stay at Palm Manor. It’s a bit larger, able to accommodate 18 people in its eight bedrooms, with 8.5 bathrooms. Palm Manor has a reverse floor plan, with an open kitchen/living/dining area upstairs, overlooking the ocean. There are expansive double porch decks front and back, as well as an elevator and private in-ground pool.
(FYI: on the IOP’s two main boulevards, even numbered homes are on the ocean and odd numbers are across the street – though you have great views at both.)
NORTH of the CONNECTOR
Treehouse on the Ocean, at 3206 Palm Boulevard
This home lives up to its name. While it’s oceanfront, it’s also built in a really cool way, tucked in amongst majestic live oak trees, a hallmark of the Lowcountry. Treehouse on the Ocean sleeps 12 people in seven bedrooms, with six full and two half baths on three floors of living area, all accessible by elevator. It has a private pool, hot tub and is pet friendly.
Barbados, at 3302 Palm Boulevard
Also oceanfront on Palm is Barbados, which sleeps 17 in seven bedrooms with seven baths. There’s a spacious master suite on the first floor, gourmet kitchen, living areas with leather sofas, wide deck with pergola, large oceanfront patio and yard with a private 50’ zero-entry pool, putting green, and walkway to the beach. It, too, has an elevator and allows pets.
This home might be across the street from the ocean, but it really brings the wow factor with its chic design. Three levels of decks face the ocean, including one with a sparkling blue infinity pool and hot tub, an outdoor grill station and TV. Paradise Palms has a first floor master, gourmet kitchen, a total of five bedrooms that sleep 10, plus five baths and an elevator.
