One of the more popular recurring events in the Lowcountry – Charleston Restaurant Week – is kicking off once again.
It involves one of Charleston’s most prominent charms: its world-famous cuisine. A visit here just isn’t complete without checking out at least one of the city’s countless great restaurants.
Charleston Restaurant Week starts tomorrow. CRW has fast become one of the most popular culinary events in the Holy City. This time around, it runs from Wednesday, January 9th through Sunday, January 20th.
When you come to stay in one of our Isle of Palms luxury rentals, you’ve gotta eat. Of course we’ve made sure that our homes are outfitted with gourmet kitchens, making mealtime prep a fun family bonding time. But it’s also nice to eat out, especially in a city that’s fast become known as a foodie destination.
There is such a vast array of restaurant choices, all within a convenient distance. Some of the best eating spots in America are just a twenty minute or so drive from the Isle of Palms.
How Charleston Restaurant Week works
The Greater Charleston Restaurant Association started this event which takes place twice a year, in January and September. These are traditionally the “slower” seasons for restaurants. It also means you can score some deals, like you can on our Isle of Palms luxury rentals.
Not surprisingly, it’s become a big hit with locals and visitors alike.
Originally, Lowcountry restaurants offered special prix fixe menus of three courses for either $20, $30 or $40. Over the years they’ve made some tweaks and improvements. It now has a new entity at the helm – the South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association. Organizers encourage restaurants to be creative and come up with their own special event menus, not necessarily adhering to the original price tiering. They’ve also expanded to include lunch options in addition to dinner.
Places fill up fast (Halls Chophouse, I’m talking about you), so reservations are highly recommended, where accepted. This event has proven to be very popular among locals, many of whom strategize and chart out their Charleston Restaurant Week schedule to hit as many places as possible. After all, well over a hundred local establishments are participating.
Another bonus – rates at this time of year are offseason and very reasonable on all our luxury beach house rentals SC. So you can take the money you save on our beach house rentals Charleston SC and put it toward some fine dining.
