All roads lead to your Charleston beach house.  OK, well, maybe that’s not exactly true, but there are more ways than ever to get here.

You can’t be named the top place to visit in the United States for the last umpteen years running, not to mention the top one in the world, without seeing some profound effects.

Demand for SC vacation rentals is higher than ever, be they Isle of Palms luxury rentals or a Folly Beach house Charleston.  The Lowcountry has been discovered by the rest of the nation and the world, and of course a Charleston beach house makes the ideal home base for a visit here.

Kudos and attention – not to mention increased numbers of visitors –   have a way of spawning improvements to the basic travel infrastructure.  Thus it comes as no surprise that they keep coming down the pike.

Many of the folks coming to stay in our rental homes South Carolina, either Isle of Palms vacation rentals or Folly Beach rentals Charleston, arrive here by plane.  And CHS, or Charleston International Airport, last year completed a very successful upgrade and overhaul, to the tune of a couple hundred million dollars’ worth.

Keep an eye peeled for the new art mural if you’re flying in to a Charleston beach house

On the one-year anniversary of the project’s completion, the airport unveiled a lovely outdoor art mural.  It measures 6 feet x 34 feet and celebrates the achievements of the famous French botanist Andre Michaux.  The airport sits on the spot where Michaux’s French Botanic Garden stood centuries ago.

The mural was painted by the artist Karl Beckwith Smith.  It’s located in front of the main terminal, where you approach the parking garages.

Read more about it, and other news about Boeing and the snazzy new 787-10 Dreamliner (the “Dash-10”), built only in Charleston, here.
