Well, peak season for our Isle of Palms vacation rentals is officially over, now that Labor Day is in the rear view mirror.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again.  Post-peak is a wonderful time to be in a luxury house on Isle of Palms, for several reasons.  Rates are lower (as are temps, generally).  Crowds are thinner.  Plus you‘ll likely have more choice in beach rentals Charleston.  Although word to the wise – word is getting out about these benefits of off-peak season for a beach house Charleston.  If you’re interested, it’s best to call as soon ahead as possible for the best choice in SC Isle of Palms vacation rentals.

Plus, this post-holiday week marks the reappearance of two main events on the culinary calendar.

CRW (Fall Edition) starts this week near our Isle of Palms vacation rentals

First up, it’s the fall incarnation of Charleston Restaurant Week.  It starts tomorrow (Wednesday, September 5th) and lasts through Sunday the 16th.

Sponsored by the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association, it’s become a very popular event that happens each January and September.  It’s a great choice for both local residents and out-of-towners.  It’s a perfect way to sample the cuisine Charleston is famous for, and feed everyone in your Charleston beach house.

Well over a hundred restaurants are participating.  Generally they offer their own chef-designed multi-course prix fixe menus, at prices lower than ordering a la carte.

Here is a link to the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association’s helpful webpage on the event.

You can find participating restaurants in these areas/categories:

  • Charleston (Downtown)
  • Daniel Island
  • Isle of Palms/Wild Dunes (especially convenient to our Isle of Palms vacation rentals)
  • James Island/Folly Beach
  • Johns Island/Kiawah
  • Lunch/Brunch Options
  • Mount Pleasant
  • North Charleston
  • Summerville
  • West Ashley

Participating restaurants show up under each category or location. There are links to their menu, website and often where you can book a table, if possible.  It’s highly recommended to make a reservation.  Seats for CRW fill up notoriously FAST.

None of these locations is too far away from our beach house rentals Charleston SC.  Even Kiawah, the farthest option, is a scenic and pleasant drive from our Isle of Palms vacation rentals.  Plus, you could even factor in a stop along the way at a true Lowcountry treasure  –  Angel Oak.
