If you’re coming to a luxury house on Isle of Palms during the holiday season, there’s no shortage of great events to get you in the Christmas spirit, as I’ve covered in several recent blogs.
First up, as a follow-up to that last blog about air travel to and from the gloriously renovated Charleston International Airport, the Post & Courier has a helpful article in today’s paper about what you can or cannot bring on board the flight.
You may bring a live chicken, but NOT a snow globe that’s bigger than a tennis ball. Read all about it here: http://www.postandcourier.com/business/holiday-travelers-urged-to-avoid-prohibited-items-at-charleston-airport/article_8c9de84a-c22a-11e6-9780-e79d6e471a23.html (In the interest of full disclosure, the chicken was a certified service animal.)
Although several holiday events are one-time happenings that have already passed – like the Charleston Boat Parade, tree lightings and several other holiday parades – others are ongoing throughout much of the holiday season.
One great example is the awesome Holiday Festival of Lights at James Island County Park. It is a truly fun family event perfect for all ages in your Charleston beach house. The festival is going on every evening through January 1st, 2017. For your GPS, head to 871 Riverland Drive in Charleston – a pleasant drive from all our SC vacation rentals, whether you’re in a Folly Beach house Charleston or one of our many lovely Isle of Palms vacation rentals.

A special Christmas Special near your luxury house on Isle of Palms…
There’s another annual holiday spectacular which can only be seen in Charleston and still has several performances left to catch before it disappears until next December.
It’s the Charleston Christmas Special, now in its 21st season.
It’s a razzle-dazzle holiday extravaganza put on by former Broadway stars Brad and Jennifer Moranz, and includes musical numbers and comedy sketches that are both fun and family-friendly. The production is new and fresh each year, although some favorites do make repeat appearances.
More than 10,000 people see the show each year.
I went last year with a large group of friends, and we all had a blast.
The remaining shows take place now through December 23rd at the Charleston Music Hall, located at 37 John Street downtown, an easy drive from all luxury beach house rentals SC. You can find all the details and ticket info here: http://charlestonmusichall.com/event/the-charleston-christmas-special-18/ Or at their website: http://bradandjennifermoranz.com/
