Here’s a cool weather installment of the popular seasonal festival.

Charleston Winter Wine Festival

The folks at Charleston Wine Festivals are all about raising a glass to toast the fruit of the vine, whatever the season.  In fact, they organize celebratory festivals all throughout the year.  And now it’s time for the winter edition.

The post-holiday season can be kind of blah, so here’s a fun way to spend a January Saturday, tasting your way through more than 50 kinds of wines while music  -  both live and DJed  -  plays.  For those who like libations other than wine, they'll also serve up cider, beer, mimosas and White Claw.

Take your pick of two sessions, afternoon (noon till 4:00 p.m.) or evening (6:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m.).  It’s happening indoors at Festival Hall (aka Memminger Auditorium) at 56 Beaufain Street downtown, so it will go on, snow, rain or shine.  Not surprisingly, it’s a 21 and over only event.

Included with your ticket are bottomless pours, along with a souvenir acrylic glass, bottled water, and entertainment.  Food will be on hand for purchase.  You’re encouraged to rideshare or have a designated driver.  Alcohol pours end 15 minutes before the end of each session, or 3:45 and 9:45.

Tickets are $45 advance, $50 after January 17th and $60 at the door, if there are any left.

NOTE: Date and details for 2025 are tentative.  Check back closer to the event for the latest info.
