The Isle of Palms loves dogs. And its Rec Center hosts a popular annual Saturday event that’s all about them. In the past, it's been known as Doggie Day at the Rec. But in 2024 they changed it up a bit, moving it from February to May, and it's now known as Isle of Paws Music Fest!
It'll take place Thursday, May 15th from 4:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m.
You and your dog(s) are welcome, whether you live here or you're staying at one of our Isle of Palms pet friendly vacation rentals!
You’ll find exhibitors galore, vendors, rescue groups with adoptable pets, and lots of health and wellness resources for your dog, plus food trucks and concessions.

Last but not least, they'll host a fun dog show with prizes. Categories include: Cutest Puppy (under one year), Most Handsome (one year +), Best Male Rescue, Best Female Rescue, and Best Dressed. No charge to enter, but they ask that you register ahead of time. Details and form are on the website.
Doggie Day at the Rec is a wholesome event that even won an Achievement Award from the Municipal Association of South Carolina.
