A day of fall fun, bluegrass, food, crafts in the great outdoors.

Harvest Festival

The good folks at Charleston County Parks are hosting their annual Harvest Festival, at the lovely Johns Island County Park.  Although it’s a bit of a drive from the Isle of Palms, it's a perfect opportunity to stop at the majestic Angel Oak along the way.

Johns Island County Park has equestrian facilities, so horses will be involved!

There will be great bluegrass bands playing throughout the day, craft vendors galore to get a jump on holiday shopping, loads of food available for purchase, exhibits, pet adoptions, and some really fun activities for the kids like hayrides and horse jumps.  The City of Charleston Police Department Mounted Patrol will also be on hand to give live demos.

Exact date and details for 2024 haven't been announced yet, but here’s what was on tap in 2023:

  • Arts & crafts, pumpkin painting, horse jumps and sand piles, and hayrides;
  • Live demos by the City of Charleston Police Department Mounted Patrol (from 11:00 – noon);
  • Plenty of festival food from Donut Daddy, LLC, Genesis Le Bleu Water’s, Empanada Cuisines LLC, Grill Kings, Lib’s Diner, Low Country Cannoli & Coffee, New Dog Charleston, Shaka Shrimp, Sombrero Wok, Sunset Slush of Summerville, T & T’s Kettle Corn, The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar, and Zimo’s Gyros
  • Libations including alcoholic options for adults;
  • Loads of craft vendors (check the website for the whole long list);
  • They will even have a KultureCity Accessibility Tent with Sensory Bags available.

The Harvest Festival is $10 for adults, and free for those 12 and under.  It’s also free for those with a Gold Pass.

You’re encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to make a day of it.  Leashed dogs are welcome.  The park is located at 2662 Mullet Hall Road on Johns Island.
