OysterFest - After Hours at the Aquarium

In 2022, the SC Aquarium brought back a very popular series of events that take over the facility after normal hours.  It’s After Hours at the Aquarium, designed for those who are 21 years old and up.

Basically it’s a very fun, all-inclusive evening complete with adult beverages (wine & beer), light bites from local restaurants, entertainment and free access to the galleries and exhibits of the Aquarium.

First up, it’s OysterFest, where you can experience a classic Lowcountry tradition, the oyster roast.   Shuck and enjoy freshly steamed oysters on the terrace overlooking scenic Charleston Harbor.

The event lasts from 7:30 till 10:30 at night.  VIP tickets provide early entry at 6:30, a special souvenir shucker plus access to the VIP bar.  Tickets sell out fast and are available on the website.

Here are some FAQs about the OysterFest.  It’s a rain-or-shine event, and parking is available in the city garage nearby.  OysterFest at the Aquarium 2023 took place on Friday, February 24th.  Date for 2024 is tentative; please check back closer to the event for exact schedule.
