Watch the eclipse and learn about it from a ranger.

A solar eclipse is coming across Central and North America on Monday afternoon, April 8th.  Here’s a chance to watch it safely, and to learn all about it.

Fort Moultrie on Sullivan’s Island, part of the National Park Service, is hosting a guided ranger talk and eclipse watch.  Special viewing glasses will be included in the admission price, which is $10 and allows you access to the entire historic site.  Kids 15 and under are free.

The eclipse will start about 2:00 in our area.  The talk will take place at 3:00.  The eclipse will reach a maximum of 70% coverage in the Lowcountry.  Glasses are required to watch it safely, since sunlight will always be visible throughout it.

Fort Moultrie is located at 1214 Middle Street on Sullivan’s Island.
