Get DirectionsA cool new music festival by local Darius Rucker
South Carolina native and Lowcountry resident Darius Rucker created and curated a brand new music festival in 2022, and it was a blast. It was such a success, it's come back each year since.
Like he himself does, it spans different music genres – including country, folk, soul and rock. It’s also a neat blend of national and local talent.
Riverfront Revival Festival takes place on a Friday and Saturday in October, and Hootie & The Blowfish will be headlining Saturday.
Organizers describe it as “a love letter to country music and to South Carolina’s Lowcountry. The two-day festival will be loaded with unforgettable live music, engaging culture and delicious tastes inspired by the region’s unique foodways. Guests will leave feeling revived – deep in their souls – about the music, the location, and the community we’re building together.”
The format is similar to the very popular High Water Festival, which was founded by (also local) music powerhouse Shovels & Rope. The venue is the same - Riverfront Park in North Charleston.
Dates and details for 2025 haven't been announced yet, so stay tuned. But this was the musical lineup for 2024. On Friday, these groups performed:
- Tedeschi Trucks Band
- The Revivalists
- Paul Cauthen
- Southall
- Grace Bowers & The Hodge Podge
- July Moon
Then on Saturday:
- Hootie & The Blowfish
- Jamey Johnson
- Collective Soul
- Arrested Development
- Hailey Whitters
- Sister Hazel
- Shane Profitt
- Gritty Flyright
- Brady Smith
- Elizabeth Covington
In typical festival fashion, there will be plenty of food trucks, beverage options, as well as various vendors of art, culture and more.
General admission weekend passes are on sale via the website. Part of the proceeds will go toward MUSC’s Arts in Healing, which helps provide therapeutic interventions and art installations for hospital patients and their families.
