Shag Lessons & Dance

When in Rome, do as the Romans do… and when in South Carolina, you definitely need to be dancing the shag.

Here’s your chance to learn the dance, and then put it to good use, all in the same day.

In 2024, the IOP Exchange Club and the East Cooper Shag Club teamed up for this double dose of shagging fun on Sunday, February 18th.  Here’s the scoop:

• Shag Lessons are from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. taught by the talented Carol Weeks and Tony Hiott of Mount Pleasant;
• Lessons are $10 per person;
• The Dance will be from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• Dance admission is also $10 per person;
• Dance DJed by Furman Dominick;
• Location: The IOP Exchange Club at 201 Palm Boulevard on the Isle of Palms.
