Volvo Cars Open is the new name for Charleston Open, one of the oldest professional women’s tennis tournaments in the nation. It is classified as a WTA Premier tournament and has been around since 1973. The tournament takes place at Family Circle Tennis Center, which is located at 161 Seven Farms Road, Charleston, SC. Kiki Bertens won the title last season and there is over $750,000 in prize money up for grabs. The clay court attracts some of the top women’s tennis players, making it a tournament worthy of the WTA. The tournament starts on March 30th and ends April 7th, 2019.
Volvo Cars Open Packages
Tennis tournaments, much like most other sports tournaments, are not easy to predict. All rounds are knock-out rounds, so after the draw there’s no telling who’s going to remain and who will be sent home early. The organizers offer packages to make it easier for you to get tickets to watch the whole tournament while at the same time saving yourself some money. Ace Club gets you the best seats in the stadium along with great amenities and hospitality. Weeklong Package seats you in the first three rows in the terrace level and costs $540. The Finale Package at $350 gives you premium seats and tickets to the semifinal and final games. The Intro Package offers tickets to the qualifying and first and second rounds and costs $235. The After Hours Package is for games played in the evening and gives you access to entertainment and nightly happy hours. This one costs $125.
Special Events and Activities
Getting one of these packages not only allows you to watch the game from the best seats in the stadium but also gives you access to some of the special events that take place during the Volvo Cars Open tournament. Some of these events are daily happenings and you can enjoy them before or after the games. Daily events include Dunlop night, happy hour nightly, military appreciation night, wheelchair tennis demonstration, and many others.
Special events take place on weekends and include a yoga event called Golden. Yoga instructors Sarah Frick and Ashley Cebulka will give you a good physical and mental exercise and introduce you to some of the empowering postures of this ancient system. Tickets for this event cost $98 per person. The other special event is Gospel Brunch and it takes place before the final game. Tickets cost $115.
