Staying in one of our Isle of Palms vacation rentals is always a fashionable choice, but all the more so in the coming week.
Coming up is the kickoff of yet another hot Charleston event, FASHION WEEK.
It ‘s running from March 14th through the 18th. This, the 11th annual installment, now officially known as Lexus Charleston Fashion Week, #CHSFW, is packing in a slew of chic happenings.
The festival began in 2007, and like many big new events in the Lowcountry, it grows in size and quality each year. It’s a great place to spot rising stars and the latest sartorial trends.
Last year more than 8,100 people took in over 40 runway shows. This year organizers are expecting even higher numbers.
One of the most anticipated events is the CFW Emerging Designers Competition, which includes 16 semifinalists. In the past it’s been a regional event, but for the first time this year, they are drawing competitors from across the country. Get set for a high fashion bar and stiff competition.
Also very popular is the Rock the Runway event, the model competition taking place next Friday night. Saturday is Fashion Finale, as well and Mother Daughter Night, when the Emerging Designer title will be announced.
New this year are the new Lexus Runway entrance, as well as the highly anticipated Maris DeHart StyleMakers Lounge. The latter will play host to numerous interviews and special events throughout the festival.
Fashion Week events are headquartered in and around Marion Square in downtown Charleston, a convenient drive from all our beach rentals Charleston, be it a luxury house on Isle of Palms or a Folly Beach house Charleston.
Basically, each evening starts when the Maris DeHart StyleMakers Lounge opens at 5:30, followed by the Belk Tent and Style Lounge at 6:00, and the runway shows starting at 7:00 (6:30 on Friday and Saturday).
Tickets for the runway shows range in price from $50 to $165. Included in the price are pre-party access at the Style Lounge with cash bar, hip DJ entertainment, and entrance to the clothing, accessories and jewelry retailers in the Belk Tent at Marion Square. Fashion Village tickets are available for $25 to $50 and include access to the Style Lounge, Belk Tent and live streaming of the runway shows.
For the serious fashionista, weekly packages with premier seating and access to the VIP tent are available for $900 to $1,200. One of our Isle of Palms luxury rentals would make the perfect home base for CFW.
