If you’re here in one of our Isle of Palms vacation rentals, you may be here for the Charleston Wine + Food Festival.  As I covered in that last blog, it’s become a wildly popular event drawing foodies from around the globe.  Many tickets this year sold out in record time. Our SC vacation rentals, namely our Isle of Palms luxury rentals, serve as a convenient home base for easy day trips into Charleston.  With everything that’s being written about the Holy City and its charms, it’s no secret the peninsula’s a’ hoppin.’ We have fully entered festival season, to be sure, and most of them are based on the peninsula.  A Charleston beach house is a convenient and fun way for the whole family to stay together while being close to all the city has to offer. But if you are in a luxury house on Isle of Palms, you don’t have to cross any bridges for some serious fun.  And unlike the Wine + Food Fest, it’s actually free.   There’s something to be said for checking into your beach house Charleston and just settling in to fully enjoy the island life. There’s a neat free event going on this weekend.  Tomorrow afternoon  -  Saturday, March 3rd, is FRONT BEACH FEST… a free street festival happening a very short distance from most of our beach house rentals Charleston SC.  It’s a super fun island time, especially if you like live beach music.

Get set for the following Front Beach Fest fun near our Isle of Palms vacation rentals...

  • Live beach music by The Holiday Band (performing from noon – 1:30), and then by the legendary Tams, who have been entertaining crowds for more than fifty years (performing from 2:00 – 4:00);
  • Dancing galore -  shagging & line dancing;
  • Food and craft vendors galore;
  • Activities for the kids, like jump castles, face painting and balloon art;
  • Bungee trampoline;
  • The event is free!
  • Parking will be available in the big lot on the corner of Ocean Boulevard and Pavilion Drive (or, you could just walk or ride a bike or golf cart from one of our Isle of Palms vacation rentals).

It goes on from noon till 4:00 p.m. tomorrow, at Front Beach  -  1200 Ocean Boulevard, Isle of Palms.  The main stage will be located in front of The Windjammer.  It’s super close to all our beach rentals Charleston. Here’s a link with the scoop.

Also, near our Isle of Palms vacation rentals… check out some great parks

One of the coolest things about the Lowcountry is the wildlife around here and our proximity to it.  The nature around here is wild and beautiful. It’s not unusual to see a pod of friendly dolphins, playing and arching high out of the water.  And there’s nothing quite like seeing a large alligator in the wild  -  as long as you maintain a safe distance.  Or a great blue heron, or snowy white egrets, or bald eagles. If you are a visitor here in one of our rental homes South Carolina, keep an eye peeled.  There are awesome creatures all around us. One thing that visitors to our Isle of Palms vacation rentals might not be aware of, is the fantastic PARKS we have here in Charleston County.  I have been to local parks all over the country, and I have to say the ones around here are some of the best I’ve seen. You’ll have a chance to try them out at no charge this weekend.  This coming Sunday, March 4th, is Customer Appreciation Day at several Charleston County parks, where they will waive the normal admission/fees.
