If you’re coming to stay in Charleston beach house, you’re in for a treat if you’re heading here by plane.
As I’ve blogged about before, air travel to the Lowcountry is hot.
Charleston International Airport has undergone a massive, almost $200 million renovation and expansion. Flying to your Charleston beach house, whether it’s a Folly Beach house Charleston or one of our Isle of Palms vacation rentals, is more enjoyable than ever. It’s helping to put a little of the fun back into flying.
I just recently flew through CHS, and the improvements are beautiful – including the gorgeous light-filled central atrium as well as the expanded local dining and shopping options (Caviar & Bananas! Yay.)
In fact, the airport is unlike any other, and a real effort was made to make it reflect the unique character of the Lowcountry.
The airport, or more exactly the Charleston County Aviation Authority which oversees it, hired marketing firm Chernoff Newman to do a rebranding. Above is the resulting new logo. It’s designed to reflect the history of Charleston – namely its gorgeous metal gates made most famous by Charleston’s legendary blacksmith, Philip Simmons.
Chernoff Newman’s representative Peter Wertimer explained, “We tried to capture yesterday and today, and put it together. It looks like a gateway. It looks like Charleston.”
They also have come up with a new tagline for the logo. It is:
YOUR TRAVELS, OUR PLEASURE
Come to think of it, that tagline would also be quite appropriate for us here at Exclusive Properties. With our extensive portfolio of SC vacation rentals coupled with our concierge services, we are delighted to make your journey to stay in one of our Isle of Palms luxury rentals or Folly Beach rentals Charleston as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
If you’re headed to one of our luxury beach house rentals SC by air, these are the airlines currently serving Charleston:
• Alaska Airlines
• American Airlines
• Delta Air Lines
• JetBlue Airways
• Southwest Airlines
• United Airlines

Latest airport numbers near your Charleston beach house…
The newly expanded airport got a real workout over Thanksgiving. Traffic through Charleston International was up a full 10% from this time last year. It is the busiest terminal in the state of South Carolina.
95,000 people passed through CHS over Thanksgiving week, far surpassing last year’s tally of 86,500. The Sunday after Thanksgiving set an all-time one day record for most people passing through.
Based on these recent numbers, it looks pretty likely that this year will set a fifth straight air traffic record for this calendar year.
