If you’re in one of our luxury beach house rentals SC, you’re near some fun freebies going on now.
First of all, Happy Free Ice Cream Cone Day!
Today is a beloved holiday, created by the cool guys at Ben & Jerry’s. In fact, they’ve been celebrating if for 37 years now, as a way to thank their customers and bring a little more joy to the world. You can go into any Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop today from noon until 8:00 p.m. and get a free ice cream cone. Pretty cool!
If you’re in one of our beach rentals Charleston, you have a couple options. There’s one location downtown at 96 North Market Street, which is convenient to all our beach house rentals Charleston SC, good if you’re in a Folly Beach house Charleston.
There’s also a location at Front Beach on the Isle of Palms, at 1109 Ocean Boulevard, super close to our Isle of Palms vacation rentals.
You can get the whole “scoop” on their website: http://www.benjerry.com/scoop-shops/free-cone-day
Also going on today is another fun freebie for a good cause, “Books for Beer.” It’s a joint effort between the Friends of the Library and Bay Street Biergarten, a popular suds spot, to help the Charleston County Public Library system.
Come to the Biergarten tonight between 5:30 – 8:00 p.m., donate a gently used book, and get a free beer. Any child who donates a children’s book will get a free root beer. (Limit one per person.) There will also be a silent auction, books for sale and other fun things benefiting the library.
Bay Street Biergarten is located downtown at 549 East Bay Street, an easy drive from all our luxury beach house rentals SC.
If you’re in luxury beach house rentals SC, keep this in mind on Thursdays…
Also, as I mentioned in that last BLOG, for the first time ever, Sullivan’s Island is getting its own farmers market. It’s extremely convenient to our SC vacation rentals, especially if you’re in a luxury house on Isle of Palms. It takes place on Thursdays through June 30th.
The Island Eye News has a great article on it, and how it came about: http://islandeyenews.com/farmers-market-begins-sullivans-island/
Organizers selected a couple dozen top notch vendors or exhibitors from a large pool of applicants. They had strict guidelines in who was chosen to participate. They must be local (from the islands, Mount Pleasant, West Ashley, John’s Island, Summerville, Goose Creek, McClellanville, etc.), grow at least 50% of any produce they sell, and disclose where the rest comes from.
Here are some vendors who made the cut:
Plant The Earth, Sullivan’s Island – plants, vegetables, flowers
Blue Pearl Farms, McClellanville – blueberries, honey & beeswax products, farm-made blueberry sauces.
Wishingbone Heritage Farms, McClellanville – eggs, meats, honey, cut herbs
Salty Seafood & Vegetable Barn, Goose Creek – vegetables, salads, fresh juices, seafood
Just added – Hiser Sea Farms – fresh local littleneck clams, single oysters, crab claws from right off Breach Inlet, a stone’s throw from our Isle of Palms luxury rentals
Charleston Artisan Cheesehouse, Charleston – local artisanal cheese products
Mitla Tortilleria, Charleston – organic tortillas (their first appearance in a farmers market)
Culinary Creations, Summerville – prepared dinners: entrees, sides & casseroles
Rio Bertolinis Fresh Pasta Co., Charleston – homemade pasta products ready to bake meals
Gelati Moto, Charleston – homemade gelato
Addie Mae’s Cakery, Charleston – specialty desserts, cakes and cupcakes
Olinda Olives & Olive Oil, Charleston – Extra virgin olive oil, natural brine olives, dirty martini brine
Arts & Crafts
Katsview Photography, Sullivan’s Island – photography, note cards
The Charleston Soap Chef, John’s Island – bar soap, sugar scrub, honey butter moisturizer, scrubs, body wash, balms
Terez, Mt. Pleasant – upcycled coffee sacks and vintage cloth made bags
