One of the most creative (and successful) fundraising events around Charleston has also been one of the most fun. It benefits one of the most deserving of area charities - the local animal shelter, the Charleston Animal Society. More specifically it directly contributes to Toby’s Fund, which pays the medical expenses for injured or abused animals. It’s the Charleston Animal Society’s Firefighter Calendar, which has been a major hit, especially when it went viral a couple years ago. People were buying them all the way from Australia and other far-flung parts of the globe.

The calendar features really HOT firemen (and women) posing with dogs and cats from the shelter - rescues, get it? It’s hard not to like the images of a super-buff handsome brave guy rescuing a tiny kitten. I mean, it’s all good. Well, they are choosing the firefighters for the 2018 calendar right now. Now's your a chance to vote for your favorite(s). For a donation of just $10 minimum per vote, you can vote as many times for the one(s) you like best and wish to see in next year’s spread. There are 26 firefighters competing for 15 spots. Of course, all the money raised goes to help animals in need, near all our beach rentals Charleston. All donations are tax deductible. The voting ends this coming Wednesday, May 10th, at 9:00 p.m., so get crackin.’ Their goal is to raise $80,000, and right now they’re at $55,142.00.
