It’s a classic combo: a luxury house on Isle of Palms + wine + food, and it comes together each March in a uniquely Charlestonian way at the BB&T Charleston Wine + Food Festival.
The giant foodiefest kicks off today (March 4th) and lasts through Sunday. March 6th. There are well over 100 events scheduled over the course of the five-day festival.
This is the eleventh year of the festival, and considering how “on fire” the Charleston restaurant scene is, it’s no wonder the festival is bigger and better than ever. This thing has some major global buzz.
If you’re coming in from out of town, as many festival-goers do, it’s no surprise that staying in one of our SC vacation rentals is the way to go – either one of our Isle of Palms vacation rentals or Folly beach house rentals Charleston SC. A Charleston beach house can house a huge gathering of friends and family in one place. A beach house Charleston also means you’ll be able to walk/run off all those delicious calories along the sands of the Atlantic.
Here’s the official website with all the details and ticket info: http://charlestonwineandfood.com/
Also, they have a handy app available free in the App Store and Android Market.
An interesting note – the festival has a multi-million dollar annual budget and is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit. Part of the proceeds goes toward culinary scholarships for up-and-coming talent.
If you are interested in tickets, they go fast. Many of the main events sold out soon after tickets went on sale. But fortunately, as Hannah Raskin wrote in today’s Post & Courier, tickets are still available for many great events.

As for Isle of Palms luxury rentals (or really nice Folly Beach rentals Charleston), they go about as fast as festival tickets. If you are interested in staying in one of our luxury beach house rentals SC, be sure to call us as soon as humanly possible so you get your top choice.
Most of the events take place on the Charleston peninsula, about 20 minutes away from a luxury house on Isle of Palms or Folly Beach house Charleston. The heart of the event is the ever-popular Culinary Village in Marion Square, which includes the ever-popular Grand Tasting Tent, now known as “The Hub,” along with a beer garden with live music, artisan market, chef demos and talks hosted by the good people of the PBS series, “Mind of a Chef.”
This year, for the first time, they are doing away with “timed entry” system for the Grand Tasting Tent, so instead of having to choose either morning or afternoon, you have access the entire day with your $100 ticket.
Any tickets still available will be sold online up to the time of the event, or in person at the Ticketing Tent in Marion Square.
Speaking of special meals for those folks in your luxury house on Isle of Palms…
