Churches in Isle of Palms

Churches

Faith is an integral part of human culture and stands at the center of many of our guests’ lives—that’s why we want to make sure you know whereabouts you can worship while on vacation. The Christian faith remains a powerful force in many people’s hearts in our community, and you can see this in not only the amount of Isle of Palms churches easily accessible within town, but also in the care taken in their construction and their strength as community centers.

Isle of Palms Baptist Church – 14 24th Ave, Isle of Palms, SC 29451

Baptists will find their faith here at the Isle of Palms Baptist Church, located on 24th Avenue—easily accessible using either Highway 703 or Waterway Boulevard. This small Isle of Palms church expresses their love of God and His community with traditional hymns and weekly meals. Their Fellowship Building hosts services twice on Sunday mornings and once on Wednesday evenings.

First United Methodist Church – 12 21st Ave, Isle of Palms, SC 29451

The local Methodist congregation, First United stands right where Palm Boulevard splits off in one direction while 21st Avenue goes the opposite. The South Carolina church worships three times per Sunday, with traditional services at 8:30 and 11 and Island Praise—their contemporary service—at 9:15. They happily welcome visitors!

St. Mark’s Lutheran Church – 300 Palm Blvd, Isle of Palms, SC 29451

If you’re Lutheran, then you may feel most comfortable at St. Mark’s, located by Palm Boulevard and 3rd Avenue. They worship at 10 a.m. every Sunday, alternating between traditional services on even Sundays and contemporary ones on odd Sundays; they also encourage people to come to Sunday School at 9:15 each Sunday as well. The South Carolina church’s impressive edifice stands as a testament to the strength of the community’s faith.

Sunrise Presbyterian Church – 3222 Middle St, Sullivan’s Island, SC 29482

Presbyterians will actually need to head slightly off the Isle of Palms to find their church, a lovely building with polished wooden interiors that lets in plenty of light. They host services at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. each Sunday, and also regularly host events at local restaurants to bond and sometimes meet groups from other congregations as well.

Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church – 1204 Middle St, Sullivan’s Island, SC 29482

Those practicing the oldest form of Christianity will also need to head some ways off Isle of Palms to Sullivan’s Island, right near Fort Moultrie. The gorgeous burnished wood interior and tall windows are homage to bygone architectural styles. They host services every day of the week, with four services on Sunday.
