A Fascinating Family-Friendly Attraction
The Children's Museum of the Lowcountry is home to hands-on exhibits ideally suited for children ages 10 years and under. With nine hands-on interactive sections, you and your children are sure to keep occupied during your time here! The museum is self-guided, and includes incredible exhibits like the Art Room, a 3D mural in the lobby, the Kids' Garden, Hideaways, Medieval Creativity Castle, Waterwise, a pirate ship, a grocery store, and more. Additionally, if you're interested in visiting when there are fewer crowds, you may want to visit during a school weekday afternoon. The museum is also well-known for catering to children with special needs with wheelchair accessibility, permitting service animals, providing noise-reducing headphones when requested, and opening up the museum from 10:00am to 12:00pm on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month, during which children with special needs and their families can visit for free in a less crowded environment. Admission for the Children's Museum of the Lowcountry costs $10.00 for South Carolina residents and $12.00 for non-South Carolina residents, though you can receive free admission with purchase of an annual membership. Children under the age of 1 year are also admitted for free. Discounts are available for military personnel, educators, and their families with valid ID. If you're traveling with a large group of 15 or more people, such as a family reunion, you can also reserve your time at the museum in advance for $7.00 per South Carolina resident or $9.00 per non-South Carolina resident.
