Spoleto poster 2015

Well, spring is officially springing into reality this weekend, although you could make a very good case for it having arrived a few days ago when the temps were about 80 degrees and the skies were a sunny Carolina blue.

Judging by the weather, it’s hard to believe this isn’t peak season for our rental homes South Carolina, either Isle of Palms luxury rentals or a Folly Beach house Charleston.  The temps are moderate, the sunshine abundant, and there’s none of that humidity that sets in during the summer months.

Because it’s not peak season, you can score some great rates on all our luxury beach house rentals SC, while enjoying a slew of great events.  The calendar is really chockablock full at the moment… we are thick in the midst of festival and benefit season, and there’s no shortage of world-class things going on all around the Lowcountry.  A Charleston beach house is the perfect way to have a home base while experiencing them.   And while our beach rentals Charleston are quite popular during the prime summer months  –  when people come to hang out at the beach, of course  –  arguably there’s even more to do around Charleston before then.

Here are some of the major things going on now, or coming up soon  –

Charleston Fashion Weekhttp://charlestonfashionweek.com/

Spring Festival of Houses and Gardens (sponsored by the Historic Charleston Foundation)…

the Volvo Car Open Tennis Tournament

Easter… the opening of area farmers marketshttp://www.charlestonfarmersmarket.com/

and of course Spoleto and Piccolo Spoleto

Speaking of Spoleto… they just unveiled the official poster of the 2015 Spoleto Festival (above, times three), so chances are you’ll be seeing it in stores and windows downtown and beyond.  This year’s bold design is by the Italian artist Ugo Nespolo, from Turin, who is also the production designer of Francesco Cavalli’s baroque opera Veremonda l’amazzone di Aragona  –  which is making its American premiere at this year’s Spoleto Festival  –  the first time it’s been performed in more than 350 years!

Spoleto Festival General Director Nigel Redden had this to say: “It is rare for us to have a poster by an artist directly involved in the current season’s festival, and I am delighted that Nespolo’s cheerful vision will be shared beyond the stage.”

Nespolo has also designed posters for Italian brands Campari and Azzurra.

The Spoleto box office is now officially open as well.  It’s located in the Charleston Visitor Center downtown.

Of course our beach house rentals Charleston SC are great to stay in between Memorial Day and Labor Day, when you can walk out of your luxury house on Isle of Palms right down to the beach to while the day away on the sand.  But SC vacation rentals are a terrific deal before then, especially our Isle of Palms vacation rentals… and we can promise you no shortage of fun ways to be entertained and fill your time here in the Lowcountry.

All best,
Lowcountry Lisa
