Yet again, while we are technically past peak season for SC vacation rentals, there’s an eclectic abundance of things to do.
As I’ve mentioned in a recent BLOG, Charleston Restaurant Week is in full swing, going on now through next Sunday, September 18th. Well over a hundred restaurants are participating this time around, so it’s a great chance to sample some gourmet Lowcountry cuisine while creatively feeding the folks in your Charleston beach house.
Craving something to drink with those vittles? Well, kicking off this weekend is Charleston Beer Week, which celebrates the “hopping” local beer scene. Beer is becoming quite the thing here in Charleston, and you have to admit that beer and the beach (and a beach house Charleston) go well together.
Not that long ago, there was only a handful of microbreweries in the entire state of South Carolina. Now there are 15 breweries in the Charleston area alone – with six more in the planning stages, and two or three others that are considering opening here.
Charleston Beer Week is a fairly young festival (it began in 2013), but it’s already creating quite a buzz, pun intended. The fourth annual installment of the event officially starts this Sunday, September 11th and lasts through the 17th, with more than 40 individual events.
Venues include Holy City Brewing, House of Brews, Closed for Business (which will host the very popular “Tap Takeover” where they will be pouring only craft beers from South Carolina – 42 of them!), The Brew Cellar, The Barrel, Crafty Draught, Tradesman Brewing Co., Craft Conundrum, Craftsmen Kitchen & Tap House, Bohemian Bull, Oak Road Brewery, Revelry Brewing, Palmetto Brewery, Homegrown Brewhouse, Two Blokes Brewery, Ghost Monkey Brewery, Kudu Coffee & Craft Beer, Mellow Mushroom, Freehouse Brewing, Bay Street Biergarten, Lo-Fi Brewing, EVO Pizza & Craft Bakery, Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon (Carolina Brewery event), The Granary, Kudu Coffee & Craft Beer, Graze Summerville, Spero, Cooper River Brewing, Total Wine & More, Chico Feo, On Forty-One, and Bowens Island. Wow, that’s quite a list of options.
These locations are all over the Charleston area, and you’re sure to find one convenient to all our luxury beach house rentals SC, be they Isle of Palms vacation rentals or Folly Beach rentals Charleston.
Some events require tickets, others are free or pay-as-you-go. There are some really creative and funny themed events, like the Hip Hop Tap Takeover, Game of Foams Pub Crawl, Drink Beer/Save Turtles!, and Flowertown’s Funky Firkin Fest. Shaggin’ near our SC vacation rentals
And last but not least, tomorrow (Saturday) night, September 10th, is also the last of what’s proven to be a very popular event, Shaggin’ on the Cooper. While staying in one of our rental homes South Carolina, why not dance the official dance of the Carolinas under the Ravenel Bridge? It takes place on the pier in lovely Waterfront Memorial Park in Mount Pleasant, at the base of the big bridge. Gates will open at 7:00 p.m. Live music starts at 8:00 – and it’s by the popular group, The Sneakers. Listen to some of their music here: (http://www.otherbrotherent.com/the_sneakers.html)
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the gate or in advance. This event usually sells out early, so your best bet is in advance.
Waterfront Park is a pleasant drive from all our SC vacation rentals, whether you’re staying in a luxury house on Isle of Palms or a Folly Beach house rentals Charleston SC. The street address is 99 Harry Hallman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant.
