One of the big draws of coming to Charleston, and one of our SC vacation rentals, is the incredible culture of the Lowcountry.

A big part of that culture has to do with the cuisine.  As I’ve written about before, Charleston has become a mecca for foodies.  Case in point: The Charleston Wine + Food Festival, which took over Marion Square and beyond this past weekend.  Tickets sold out in record time.  If you were here in a beach house Charleston, hopefully you were able to snag some of those in demand tickets.

Events took place all over downtown, and from all accounts it was a huge success.

You’ve got to feed the folks staying in your Charleston beach house, and thankfully there’s an abundance of options.  Lowcountry, Gullah, seafood, vegetarian, Thai, Greek, Italian, French, fast casual, fine dining, food trucks  – the area has you covered. There’s something bound to satisfy even the pickiest eater in your luxury house on Isle of Palms.

If you are renting one of our beach rentals Charleston, namely our Isle of Palms luxury rentals, you now have a cool new option.  An Uber driver will pick up your food from a Charleston restaurant and deliver it right to the door of any of our beach house rentals Charleston SC.

Try some creative cuisine and catch a live game near our SC vacation rentals

Locals already know a little secret – the Charleston Riverdogs baseball games are a cool place to get some surprisingly gourmet grub.

Every year they announce the new starting lineup of food options available at The Joe, the baseball park downtown Charleston.  They just announced what they’ll be serving during the upcoming season, which begins in April.  The season starts April 5th with an away game in Lexington, but the first home game will be April 12th.

Here are some of the options:

  • “25th-anniversary hot dog” with a silver leaf, pork belly and lobster  –  $25 for 2 hot dogs by themselves;
  • The above served with a bottle of nice champagne –  cost $175. (Only one bottle available per game, so it’s definitely an order with a lot of cachet);
  • “Wagyu Island burger” with high-quality beef;
  • Smoked carrot dog;
  • Two new flatbread pizzas;
  • Margarita beer shake;
  • Caribbean smoothie;
  • Grilled cheese sandwich with brie, apple and honey;
  • “Kitchen Sink Chips” with pulled pork and avocado;
  • Sweet potato waffle fries with she crab soup poured over the top;
  • Summer harvest salad served in a batting helmet.

That’s some interesting sounding choices right there.  Why not have fun food while watching the greatest show on dirt?  The Joe is an easy drive from all our rental homes South Carolina.

Watch a report from Live 5 News about the Riverdogs menu here.
