Savor the Flavors and Views at this Incredible Seafood Restaurant
Housed within a building designed to replicate a turn-of-the-century coastal building, The Boathouse is loaded with South Carolina nostalgia and authentic nautical memorabilia. The restaurant was built atop the site of an old bait shop, across the road from where the Civil War Hunley Submarine was launched. You’ll find The Boathouse restaurant at 101 Palm Blvd., Isle of Palms, SC 29451. You can also reach the IOP restaurant by phone at (843) 886-8000.
Inside of The Boat House at Breach Inlet, patrons can look anywhere and find pieces of local and East Coast history. Row boats over one hundred years old hang from the ceiling. Vintage pictures and oars adorn the walls. Even the woodwork throughout the restaurant was made from over ten different kinds of wood, assembled by a local craftsman from nearby Goat Island.
Of course, all of these details merely underscore the unbelievably delicious menu that The Boathouse at Breach Inlet has to offer. The restaurant has an extensive wine and cocktail list, as well as two distinct raw bars to pair with your brunch or dinner.
Brunch is served on Sundays from 11:00am to 2:00pm, during which time diners can treat themselves to the best of breakfast and lunch. Whet your appetite with crab fritters, sweet corn hushpuppies, fried green tomatoes, or biscuits and gravy. Try the shrimp bisque or the spinach salad if you’re feeling something light. If you’re just starting off your day, fill up with a hearty farmer’s casserole, breakfast sandwich, Boathouse benedict, steak benedict, or French toast. Or, if you’re craving lunch, sample from choices like the Boathouse po’boy, the crab cake sandwich, spicy shrimp and grits, or a fried seafood plate with hushpuppies and options like scallops, oysters, shrimp, and flounder.
The Boathouse’s dinner menu shines even brighter than its brunch menu, served nightly at 5:00pm. Many favorites from the brunch menu are still available, only with additions like the Poached Seafood Combination (which includes lobster, shrimp, and scallops all at once), butter-poached lobster tails, and steak and lobster. Pan-roasted sea scallops, seafood fettucine, filet mignon, grilled chicken breast, collard greens, and smoked gouda mac and cheese present a world of options.
