Another Moonlight Mixer near our beach rentals Charleston
The Folly Pier is a lovely spot. It stretches 1,045 feet out over the Atlantic Ocean, is 25 feet wide, 23 feet above sea level (literally!), and is the second longest such pier on the entire East Coast. It’s a great place to fish (they have rod rentals and a tackle shop), dine (at Locklear’s Beach City Grill), or swim (they have beach access and showers).
Tonight is a fun dancing event sponsored by the good people at Charleston County Parks & Rec. It’s the latest installment of Moonlight Mixers, and it’s going on this evening, July 7th – as well as August 18th and September 15th – on the Folly Beach Pier. It’s very convenient to Folly Beach rentals Charleston.
- Shagging under the stars on the scenic Folly Beach Edwin S. Taylor Fishing Pier;
- Music by DJ Jim Bowers, spinning beach music and other classics;
- Food, snacks & beverages will be available for purchase (please don’t bring outside coolers or alcohol);
- Gates open and music starts at 7:00 p.m. and the event goes till 11:00 p.m.;
- Rain date is the following night (Saturday);
- Tickets are just $10 each at the gate, $8 in advance.

Second Sunday on King near our beach rentals Charleston
Second Sunday on King Street is one of the most fun and successful recurring events in the Lowcountry.
For those who have been to our rental homes South Carolina before, either Isle of Palms vacation rentals or Folly Beach rentals Charleston, you may have been to one of these or at least heard about them. Hopefully you were lucky and/or smart enough to have your stay on one of our luxury beach house rentals SC coincide with the second Sunday of the month.
One Sunday per month, the city blocks off the main shopping street – lower King – from Calhoun (Marion Square) to Queen Street, removing all vehicular traffic. Pedestrians, dogs, timely special event booths, street musicians and outdoor café dining take the place of cars and trucks.
It’s a great idea that’s gotten more and more popular as it goes on.
King Street has been heralded as one of the best shopping streets in America, and by removing the stress of traffic (and adding in the extras), the experience is truly enhanced. If you’re staying in a luxury house on Isle of Palms or a Folly Beach house Charleston, a trip to King Street is a must. Second Sunday really is the best possible way to experience it, so take note when scheduling your stay in one of our Isle of Palms luxury rentals.
Therefore, the next installment will be this Sunday, July 9th, and it’ll last from noon till 5:00 in the afternoon. HERE’S the website where you can print out a voucher for two hours of free parking in city garages during the event:
So please vote for us for Charleston’s Choice, and enjoy a Moonlight Mixer or a Second Sunday on King. And remember, when you are on the hunt for SC vacation rentals, to call Exclusive Properties. We’ll hook you up with the very best in beach rentals Charleston.
