Nothing says summer like hanging out on the beach, preferably while staying in one of our beach rentals Charleston. This weekend (well, technically Monday) is Memorial Day.  That means we’re heading into the prime time of the year, when luxury beach house rentals SC will be bustling as folks flock to the coast.  Hopefully you reserved your Charleston beach house well in advance.  As word spreads about how fantastic Lowcountry beaches are, our SC vacation rentals --  Isle of Palms vacation rentals or a Folly Beach house Charleston  --- book up sooner and sooner. If you’re looking for a luxury house on Isle of Palms, you’ve got to act fast, no matter what the season. Another thing that says SUMMER is seeing a movie.  Well, thanks to the folks at the Tides on Folly Beach, you can do both things at once. They’ve put together a fun summer movie series where they’ll be showing films ON THE BEACH ITSELF.  It takes place Wednesday nights from now into August. The season kicks off next week at sundown, Wednesday, May 31st.

Beach Movie Night 2017 Schedule May 31: Finding Dory June 7: Star Wars – Rogue One  June 14: Zootopia  June 19: Monday Night Special  -  McKevlin’s Surf Movies  June 21: Sully  June 28: The Jungle Book (2016)  July 5: Miracle  July 12: Frozen  July 19: Doctor Strange July 26: Moana   Aug 2: La La Land Aug 9: Lego Batman  Aug 16: Jaws  Aug 23: Surfers Healing Special  -  Surf’s Up

If the idea of watching a movie indoors is more appealing, there’s a cool and creative option for you this summer. As I’ve mentioned before and you probably already know, actor and comedian Bill Murray is a part-time resident of the Lowcountry.  In fact, he’s part owner of the local baseball team the Riverdogs, along with various other Lowcountry entities like the downtown restaurant Harold’s Cabin.  He’s also known to make random appearances at area haunts and in tourists’ selfies. In his honor, the Charleston Music Farm has put together the Summer of Bill Film Series. When they first approached him about it, he thought it was a cool idea, but he had a request  -  that they also include movies of his that were not critical successes (in fact could even be considered flops).  That’s so Bill. The series also kicks off Wednesday night, May 31st at 7:30 p.m. (door open at 7:00).  Organizers have also come up with a fun Bill-themed art exhibit by over 20 local artists in the upstairs gallery that will last the duration of the series.  There’s a free gallery opening reception Wednesday from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. before the first movie. Here’s the lineup:

Caddyshack – May 31

The Razor’s Edge – June 6

Ghostbusters – June 14

Rushmore – June 29

Lost in Translation – July 26

Broken Flowers – August 2

The Life Aquatic – August 20

Movies are $8 each, or $35 for a seven-film pass.  Charleston Music Hall is located at 37 John Street in downtown Charleston, super convenient to all our beach rentals Charleston.
