Isle of Palms vacation rentals provide the ideal home from which to experience the myriad of festivals taking place throughout the Lowcountry.  Why, this past weekend alone there were three of them, as I covered in this blog. As I mentioned before, Spoleto has announced their schedule for this year’s festival.  This week, tickets officially went on sale to the public online at:  http://www.spoletousa.org/ Tickets are going fast, even though the festival isn’t happening until the end of May and beginning of June.  And just as tickets are going fast, so are our SC vacation rentals, be they Isle of Palms luxury rentals or a Folly Beach house Charleston.  If you are interested in booking a Charleston beach house for any time during festival season, the early bird gets the best worm  -  or in this case, a luxury house on Isle of Palms.

Another big festival is coming up even sooner than Spoleto.  It’s the huge Southeastern Wildlife Exposition, “Celebrating Wildlife Art & The Sporting Life.”  This year it’s happening the weekend of February 16-18th in and around downtown Charleston.  This is the 36th year of a festival that draws folks from all over the globe to see some of the best wildlife art around.  Plus there’s all the fun nature-themed activities going on throughout the city. Here’s a link to the official website, with all the details and schedule of events:  http://sewe.com/ SEWE events are an easy drive from all our beach house rentals Charleston SC.

Last but not least, there’s yet another festival coming up even before SEWE, and it’s a fun one. In fact, it’s the largest oyster festival in the world! It’s the 35th annual Lowcountry Oyster Festival, going on Sunday, January 28th at Boone Hall Plantation.  This is convenient to all our beach rentals Charleston, especially our Isle of Palms vacation rentals.  Just cross the IOP Connector, head up Highway 17 and follow the signs to Boone Hall. Get set for 80,000 pounds of oysters, live music, great food (at a food court) and beverages.  They’ll have oyster shucking and oyster eating contests plus activities for the kids.  The festival will take place from 10:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m.  It’s been tapped as one of the top 20 events in the Southeast by the Southeastern Tourism Society. The good folks at the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association sponsor the event. Much of the proceeds go to good causes  -  namely the Ronald McDonald House of Charleston, Hollings Cancer Center at MUSC, Shriners Hospitals for Children, and local schools.  Read more about them here. Here’s a link to the festival webpage, where you can buy advance tickets.  This is wise, since they expect 10,000 people or more, plus you save on admission.  Tickets are $17.50 advance, or $25 the day of.  VIP tickets have already sold out. See more coverage of the festival here.   Isle of Palms vacation rentals and Lowcountry festivals really go together well.  And remember, to call EP ASAP, for the best in luxury beach house rentals SC.  Our rental homes South Carolina are near some of the most fun festivals in the country.   All best, Lowcountry Lisa your Isle of Palms vacation blogger
