If you’re planning on coming to the Lowcountry to stay in one of our Isle of Palms vacation rentals, good move.  You’ll be staying near the most friendly city in the entire world, according to the readers of Condé Nast Traveler.

Another year, another affable accolade for the Holy City.

Charleston has been named the friendliest city in the country by Condé Nast Traveler readers in years past.  In addition to its southern hospitality, it was singled out for its culture, food scene, natural beauty and history.

Southern hospitality is not just a myth or a cliché… it’s real, and nowhere more so than in Charleston and the Lowcountry in general.

If you’ve stayed in a Charleston beach house before, either one of our Isle of Palms luxury rentals or a Folly Beach house Charleston, this probably comes as no surprise.  Charlestonians pride ourselves on making visitors feel welcome.  We love to show off and share our beautiful culture and environs.

The official honor is based on the votes of Condé Nast Traveler readers, as a part of their Reader’s Choice Awards.  In years past, the voting has been among the most friendly cities in the United States.  (Interestingly, in 2014, eight of the top ten cities were all in the South.)

This year, for the first time, the list encompasses the entire globe.

Yet another reason to chose Isle of Palms vacation rentals...

Isle of Palms vacation rentals are near the most friendly city on earth.

This is what they had to say about the number one pick, Charleston:

One reader put it perfectly: “People speak to each other!" "The city is so lovely and easy to get around on foot.” “Charleston is by far my favorite city!," says another reader. "It has the charm of the South, the sophistication of the city, and a warmth and friendliness that is unmatched.”

"Everything in Charleston is perfectly designed for visitors to be comfortable, safe, and well taken care of," said another. In short, even as the city grows, Southern hospitality lives.

This is what they said a couple years ago:

With “sand, sun, history, good food, and friendly people,” Charleston is a consistent hit with the travelers who venture to this “gracious and beautiful” city (in fact, it's also the No. 1 city in our entire Readers' Choice Survey, with high scores for ambience, restaurants and culture). Nearby beaches and impressive architecture draw visitors, but it’s the “insanely nice” locals who enhance “magnificent” bed and breakfasts and “amazing shopping.” “The charm of this city brings me back every year,” praised one devoted fan.

If you are planning on coming to one of our luxury beach house rentals SC, do be forewarned  -  folks who have come to stay in one of our Isle of Palms vacation rentals or Folly Beach rentals Charleston have been known to fall in love with the area and buy a place of their own.

Not a bad plan.  They can stay in their luxury house on Isle of Palms while here, then we can manage it as part of our portfolio of SC vacation rentals to make it a moneymaker during the rest of the year.  It’s a win-win for everyone!  If you're not in the market to buy, then just come and rent one of our Isle of Palms vacation rentals.
