Housed within a building designed to replicate a turn-of-the-century coastal building, The Boathouse is loaded with South Carolina nostalgia and authentic nautical memorabilia. The restaurant was built atop the site of an old bait shop, across the road from where the Civil War Hunley Submarine was launched. Inside of The Boat House at Breach Inlet, patrons can look anywhere and find pieces of local and East Coast history. Row boats over one hundred years old hang from the ceiling. Vintage pictures and oars adorn the walls. Even the woodwork throughout the restaurant was made from over ten different kinds of wood, assembled by a local craftsman from nearby Goat Island.
