South Carolina is on a roll, and so are SC vacation rentals.
Check out the front page of the last two days of the Post & Courier, the main newspaper in the Lowcountry near our beach rentals Charleston:
To quote the former governor of South Carolina (and current U.N. Ambassador) Nikki Haley, “It’s a great day in South Carolina!” That, of course, was the message she had on the answering machine when people would call up the powers-that-be in Columbia.
It’s a pretty amazing feat for a state known much more for football (or baseball) than basketball. It’s the first time the South Carolina men have ever made it to the Sweet Sixteen, the Elite Eight, much less the Final Four. And for both the men’s and the women’s teams to accomplish that high achievement, it’s a pretty big deal. This is the women’s second Final Four appearance, after having made it there in 2015.
As a matter of fact, it’s been a great YEAR for South Carolina - considering the reigning national champs in college football (Go, Clemson Tigers!) and baseball (Go, Coastal Carolina!) hail from the Palmetto State.
So, South Carolina is hot right now. And so are our rental homes South Carolina, be they Isle of Palms luxury rentals or a Folly Beach house Charleston. In 2016 Charleston experienced a 120% increase in rental bookings over the previous year… and 2017 looks to be even better. So if you are interested in booking one of our luxury beach house rentals SC, you’re wise to do at as early as humanly possible.
Busy weekend for SC vacation rentals, indeed
This coming weekend is shaping up to be quite a busy one, for sure, as I covered in this blog. Saturday is the 40th running/walking of the Cooper River Bridge Run. It’s also the start of the Volvo Car Open (formerly known as the Family Circle Cup women’s tennis tournament), which attracts top players from around the globe. Also going on is the Flowertown Festival in Summerville, just up I-26 from all our beach house rentals Charleston SC.
Now, add to the list, the Final Four basketball games, which no one could have reasonably planned for much in advance. March Madness is truly something! Perhaps never before have so many brackets been so totally busted so early. When South Carolina beats Duke in a NCAA basketball championship game, you know something wild is going on.
The South Carolina men will face Gonzaga in Phoenix on Saturday, with tip-off set for 6:09 p.m. The games air on CBS. If you are in a Charleston beach house, that’s Channel 5, WCSC. Then, at 8:49 p.m., my beloved North Carolina Tarheels take on the Oregon Ducks. This is UNC’s 20th Final Four appearance, an NCAA record. The championship game will take place Monday night.
But it is ladies first, and the South Carolina women will face off against Stanford Friday night in Dallas, with game time set for 7:30 p.m. EST. Then at 10:00 p.m., powerhouse UCONN will battle Mississippi State for a chance to play in the title game, which will take place on Sunday.
Friday’s games will air on ESPN2, and the championship on Sunday will be on ESPN. Here’s more on that: https://www.seccountry.com/sec/2017-womens-final-four-game-times-schedule-updated-bracket
Go, Carolina!
So, go Carolina! (I won’t specify which one.) And remember, when you are looking for SC vacation rentals, especially Isle of Palms vacation rentals, to call EP. We’ll put you in the perfect luxury house on Isle of Palms.
All best,
