Folks who are interested in staying in one of our Isle of Palms vacation rentals or in our SC vacation rentals out on Folly Beach often use it as a home base for easy day trips into Charleston. With everything that’s being written about the Holy City and its charms, it’s no secret the peninsula’s a’ hoppin.’ Case in point: the Wine + Food Festival going on the weekend, which I covered in that last BLOG. After all, a Charleston beach house is a convenient and fun way for the whole family to stay together and be close to all the city has to offer.
But if you are in one of our Isle of Palms vacation rentals, you don’t have to cross any bridges for some serious fun - which, unlike the Wine + Food Fest, is actually free. There’s something to be said for checking in to your luxury house on Isle of Palms and just settling in to enjoy the island life.
But that’s not all. There’s a neat free event going on right now. This afternoon is FRONT BEACH FEST… happening a very short distance from most of our beach house rentals Charleston SC. Even if you are in a Folly Beach house Charleston, it’s worth the trip - especially if you like live beach music.
Get set for the following:
- Live beach music by The Tams, who have been entertaining crowds for more than fifty years
- More live music by The Catalinas
- Dancing galore - shagging & line dancing
- Food and craft vendors
- Activities for the kids, like jump castles, face painting and balloon art
- Karaoke
- Mechanical bull
It goes on till 4:00 p.m. today, at Front Beach - 1200 Ocean Boulevard, on the Isle of Palms. Here’s a link with the scoop: http://www.iop.net/island-gras
Also, near our Isle of Palms vacation rentals … check out some great parks
One of the coolest things about the Lowcountry is the wildlife around here and our proximity to it. The nature around here is wild and beautiful.
It’s not unusual to see a pod of friendly dolphins, playing and arching high out of the water. And there’s nothing quite like seeing a large alligator in the wild - as long as you maintain a safe distance. Or a great blue heron, or snowy white egrets, or bald eagles.
If you are a visitor here in one of our rental homes South Carolina, either Isle of Palms vacation rentals or Folly Beach house Charleston, keep an eye peeled. There are awesome creatures all around us.
One thing that visitors to our luxury beach house rentals SC might not be aware of, is the fantastic PARKS we have here in Charleston County. I have been to local parks all over the country, and I have to say the ones around here are some of the best I’ve seen.
You’ll have a chance to try them out at no charge this weekend. This coming Sunday, March 5th, is Customer Appreciation Day at several Charleston County parks, where they will waive the normal admission/fees. They include:
Ravenel Caw Caw Interpretive Center, North Charleston Wannamaker, James Island County Park, plus the public is invited to enjoy free parking at Kiawah Beachwalker Park;
Especially convenient to our Isle of Palms vacation rentals --- Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands, Laurel Hill County Park in Mount Pleasant, free parking at the Isle of Palms County Park, and free fishing at the Mount Pleasant Pier!
And near Folly Beach rentals Charleston - the Folly Beach County Park, plus free fishing at the Folly Beach Pier

When you are out enjoying the area parks, or just stepping out of one of our beach rentals Charleston, be sure to watch for wildlife. You might just see something spectacular. And as always, contact EP for the best in Isle of Palms luxury rentals.
All best,
