One of the most popular and relaxing things to do while staying in a Charleston beach house is to a read a book. Sure, there are more high-tech ways to enjoy a novel - kindle, smartphone, iPad, tablets of all sorts. But to be honest, sand and electronics don’t usually mix very well. - Prices start at just $1.00 (and only 50 cents for children’s books).
- All items (except tote bags) are half-price on Sunday!
They accept cash, checks or major credit cards. It’s sponsored by Friends of the Library (FOL). Proceeds go toward helping the public library do its good work for the community. The folks of FOL pledge a minimum of $100,000 to the library each year, and most of that is raised by their book sales. Charleston County currently has 16 public libraries and more on the way. The sale takes place at the Omar Shrine Auditorium at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant.
