We’re a small island—only about seven miles in length—and our pace of life is slower than many other places. We love sitting on our back porch drinking sweet tea as the sun sets over the horizon, long walks along the shores edge early in the morning while the day still holds promise that it will be the best one ever, and sitting around the kitchen table playing old fashioned board games with our families on Sunday evenings, mentally preparing ourselves for the weeks ahead by spending time with the ones who are the most important to us. This doesn’t mean, however, that we don’t enjoy dressing up in our party clothes, putting on our dancing shoes, and hitting the town for a night of laughter, fun, and tropical drinks. With breathtakingly beautiful views of the ocean from atop Coconut Joe’s rooftop bar (known as Tequila Ted’s!), refreshing beverages, and live music on the weekends during the summer season, there isn’t much about Coconut Joes (and tequila Ted’s!) that we don’t like, and a mile-long list of things we LOVE. The Goombay Smash is a fantastic concoction of coconut rum, pineapple juice, coconut cream, and orange juice; if you had any problems before tasting this amazing beverage they will magically disappear after one sip…we promise!
